The Yellow Griffin is booked for Sunday afternoon for an afternoon of socializing, food, and some great board games! We have a great group of members who are always willing to teach new players so this is the perfect chance to try a new game or to replay games you already know.
It would be great if everyone could bring a game or 2 that you would like to play to ensure we have a good selection. Please post what games you are interested in playing or are planning to bring.
Lawrence will be supplying some books for our raffle draw at this event.
There is space for 30 attendees. The first 30 people to RSVP will have a guaranteed spot and anyone else is welcome to come by and play if space permits since we can usually expand and use more tables than we reserve.
We are in the upstairs party room.
There is a standard $2 charge to support TAG's website costs, and an additional $2 for a raffle ticket (that also supports TAG). We are now able to accept payments online, you may also bring cash to the door.
** We will be adhering to the RSVP Policy for this event **
The Yellow Griffin has been very generous in letting us use their establishment for this Meetup, so please say 'Thanks!' by purchasing a drink and/or some food from our hosts and do not bring in any outside food or beverages! Please also consider tipping our serving staff. Also, please note that the children's menu is NOT available to any patrons over the age of 12. No exceptions!
But it's not a competition; lol. Seriously though, for first timers, these are the raffle prizes.
I'll be bringing Settlers of Catan, Diplomacy and maybe Carcassone. I'd like to play Diplomacy myself, but it seems to put people off with its length and rule set. Hoping I can scare up a game this time. :-)
Hi Blaine,
Check-out the Diplomacy Variants Wiki at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diplomacy_(game)#Variants![]()
OR
the Variant Bank www.variantbank.org on ways to reduce the length of the game such as setting an end year, only allowing 10 minutes for negotiation and 5 minutes to write moves using this map to mark moves http://www.diplomacy-archive.com/regularmaps/diplomap.gif![]()
Hope this helps.
Lawrence
If you don't mind teaching, I have been wanting to learn Diplomacy for a long time.
Refunds are not offered for this Meetup.
There are three (3) Prizes for this event! "Eclipse" - The Twilight Saga boardgame, the book The Twilight Saga: the official illustrated guide AND The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor novel
