Welcome to the group, James! Have you seen a sleep specialist yet? If not, I strongly recommend you ask your family doctor for a referral to a sleep clinic for an overnight sleep study. If your psychiatrist thinks it may be an anxiety issue, you may wish to consult with Dr. Raed Hawa at Toronto Western Hospital. He is a psychiatrist who specialises in sleep medicine, and he is excellent. Just ask your doctor to refer you. Good luck!
