Notice: To all adventurers, level 1.
The Ragnarok Adventurers Guild (RAG) requires all adventurers, level 1, to apply for a position in a new adventuring party. The Mines of Khunmar have only been cursorily explored and is available for further probing. Failing to show up for roll call will result in your criminal marginalization and you will be rooted out. The Khunmar Mines are a high yield prospect and will result in any applicants who are accepted becoming stupidly rich, there is very little risk. (Roll Wisdom Check) Those affiliated with the Snail-Riders need NOT apply, you are bums. Thank you for your co-operation. Yes, RAG is serious. The Mines of Khunmar are one of the last of the old unexplored Dwarven mines available for delving. Though they may sound hard-line (and they are) they have indeed made some foolhardy adventurers incredibly rich, though most adventurers die a grisly death under contract to RAG. You know of these mines from the legends, though most are vague and some are even contradictory. Rumor has it that kobolds have taken up residence and are breeding monsters in order to take over this part of the world. There is also a legend of a great monster lurking within the depths of the earth, possibly even connected to the mines in some way. This is the stuff that adventurer dreams are made of! Fame! Wealth! The fawning adoration of your chosen sexual preference! Roll call is next Mid-week Day which is the twenty-eighth day in the month of Julias in the pre-twilight hours. (Wednesday, July 28, 6:30pm) Please let me know below if you can make it and if you are familiar with the Labyrinth Lord core system. A search of the LL system will net you some free books which are available from RPGnow.com. The above stated Mines of Khunmar is a mega-dungeon which is fairly available on the internet, so don't look it up if you'd like to join this party. The Snail-Riders are only not allowed to come because they are also doing this dungeon! EDIT: I have four interested players thus far. Edited by Raven on Jul 23, 2010 6:38 PM |

Nice to see a mega-dungeon starting up! If you have the time, I would love to hear your thoughts and impressions on running a mega-dungeon focused game.
I've been drifting away from 4e for a while and regressing through the editions back to my D&D Holmes edition and B1 Search of the Unknown and am now exploring 'mega-dungeon as setting'. All I'm waiting for right now is the right opportunity to squeeze a bi-monthly DM'ing session into my life. |

I wouldn't be able to make it for the 28th, but if it was every 2nd week thereafter, I'm in! Woot!

Shhh.... I'm stalking my prey, waiting for the right moment to pounce.
Seriously, I think our 4e Poortown is just going through a bit of a 'down-time' this summer so people's interests are wandering. I'm still not 100% on putting a final nail in the 4e coffin - I swear with some tweaking I could get the gameplay I'm looking for out of it, I keep thinking I'd like to try maybe 3 sessions of an exploration-based (instead of encounter-based) adventure in 4e. |

LOL!
Rob: It seems to take a certain amount of railroading, especially since my plot if terribly flimsy. "You're all greedy mofos, and foorhardy, to boot!" "Well, OK so we go to a more profitable location." "..Your party is murdered by the guild. Roll new characters." My 4E game went on (at least) summer hiatus while I take a spot at a table running the temple of elemental evil. (So excited, starts tomorrow!) There was barely anybody showing up anyways, I feel your pain. Sandy: You're welcome at my table, LL and the older systems can handle parties up to about ten people so come even if I say it's full. Great! I won't be able to make the 28th, but I'll be at the one after that. Looking forward to it on the calendar.

I really enjoyed what I played of this! Just in case this compels anyone who was maybe thinking of coming late or maybe not or I have no idea to more heavily consider it.
I like the Labyrinth Lords system. Basically I enjoy classic rolling. And everythings just so simple, but not in a detrimental way. So it's fun on the fly. Edited by Hawk on Jul 27, 2010 1:32 PM |

Our first session went well. Only two members showed up, so they got two characters each! Anyone joining the fray will be joining a relatively full party and will likely only get one character, I hope that's alright with you guys. I don't expect all four of the current party to survive to level three anyhow..
Registration is still open, we have four people currently interested. |
